Beats cold weather
A heating coil runs through the system to ensure that it is still fully operational in temperatures below freezing and its reflective elements ensure it is clearly visible in the dark. Automatic sensors mean that the driver can simply remain in the cab whilst the truck is disinfected, which only takes 15-25 seconds.
Cost-effective and low maintenance
Water usage is low and dilution levels are adjustable. Its robust design will ensure years of performance with minimal maintenance, making it a very cost-effective option for those who take biosecurity seriously.
An Interhatch team installed the system and provided training to the farm staff. Product Manager Rohan Hughes commented:
“The new Sanigene system will significantly reduce the threat of pathogens entering the farm by disinfecting vehicles effectively, every time. The driver simply signs in, and puts his PPE on. It really gives the farm manager peace of mind. It also shows any auditors that you are serious about welfare and biosecurity and actively trying to limit the spread of disease.”
Ed Lanning of Devonshire Poultry Ltd didn’t want to take any chances with biosecurity on his farm:
“Good biosecurity practices start at the farm gate with thorough disinfection of any vehicles coming onto site. This is why we have chosen to install the Sanigene 360 Degree Disinfection Gate to provide a cost effective and reliable way of disinfecting vehicles. During the uncertainty of Avian Influenza this gives us the peace of mind that we have minimised the risk opposed by traffic entering the farm.”
The spread of disease is the biggest single threat in the poultry industry, and vehicles travelling from farm to farm represent one of the main entry points for contamination. We believe that taking control of disinfection yourself and disinfecting the entire vehicle rather than just part of it, is one of the most effective measures that you can take to protect your business.
