Avian Influenza Restrictions Lifted Throughout the UK

6 July 2017

Following months of disruption for poultry keepers large and small, the UK is now Avian Influenza free. Restrictions had remained in place in Lancashire, Cumbria, Merseyside and Norfolk. However the 10k surveillance zone around the last case declared on the 3rd June has now been lifted. This means that barring any other outbreaks, the UK should gain official disease free status by mid-September, excellent news for all.

Poultry fairs, markets and gatherings can now take place across England subject to additional biosecurity measures. The Interhatch range of bio-security products can be found HERE
